Joel Parkenson takes the win at the 2009 J-Bay Pro!
With his third win in the bag coupled with an =3rd and an =9th Joel is destined to become the 2009 world champion! Coming second to Joel was Damien who was ripping throughout this whole comp throwing big Occy-like backhand carves with his classic Hobgood ease and style. I always love to follow the hilarious adventures of the Hobgood brothers on their website, check it out HERE! Also, an amazing showing in this comp by Dane who pulled off some of the most radical maneuvers of the contest; he recieved a 19.20 total in his quarterfinal heat, earning his second perfect 10 of the event! He just barely missed the final with a 13.67 heat total to Damien's 13.73 in their semifinal heat! Excellent J-Bay waves and incredible surfing made this contest one of the best comps of the year!
